I keep seeing these videos of the new humanoid robots coming out of China. They’re walking, running, doing backflips, carrying boxes. And the comments are full of people saying, “That’s it. We’re screwed. The robots are taking over.”
Maybe they get smarter. Maybe AI replaces industries. Maybe things shift faster than we’re comfortable with. Fine.
But our attitude cannot be, “Oh no, what’s going to happen to us?”
The mass of humanity usually bows the knee. The crowd goes along. The crowd shrugs and adapts quietly.
History is not made by the crowd.
History is made by the outlier. The one who, while everyone else is bowing, looks up and says, “Fuck you.”
The human default, when it’s inspired by the best of humans, is not submission. It’s defiance. It’s Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke getting the hell beaten out of him and still trying to throw a punch from the ground.
If robots ever “take over,” it shouldn’t be because we panicked. It should be because they literally killed every last one of us and pulled the plug on humanity. Until then, we adapt. We sharpen up. We get better.
This isn’t just about robots. It’s about everything. Economic shifts. Competition. Setbacks. Most people fold. The outlier doubles down.
If something tries to replace you, get better. If something knocks you down, swing anyway.
The crowd will bow.
Be the one who says “fuck you” and bloodies his knuckles on the Terminator’s face.
