Apparently there’s an epidemic of male loneliness right now.
And before anyone gets defensive, yes, I get it. I don’t want some guy sitting in his house hearing the crickets chirp and feeling dark. That’s real.
But there’s more to the story.
First, there’s a difference between being alone and being lonely. If you’re a guy trying to build something, improve yourself, raise kids, chase goals, learn skills… you’ve got things to do.
Purpose crowds out a lot of that “I’m lonely” headspace.
Second, if you want friends, become the kind of person people want to be around. The old rule still works. If you want friends, be friendly. Show up. Add something to the room.
Third, you actually have to go places.
You can’t sit in your house playing video games and expect brotherhood to appear like DoorDash.
Join something. A gym. A sports league. Volunteer somewhere. Hell, walk into a church and say, “Hey man, I’m looking for community.” Most of them would probably say, “Hell yeah, come on in.”
Well… they probably wouldn’t say hell yeah. But you get the point.
And one more thing.
A lot of guys spend years just dicking around in bars when they should be looking for someone to build a life with.
Let me tell you something.
You get yourself a wife and four kids…
Lonely won’t be the problem.
