Increase Your Value, Reduce the Conflict

One of the most common things couples fight about?

Money.

And yeah, the standard advice is fine. Communicate better. Budget better. Understand each other. All good. I’m not arguing with that.

But here’s something nobody says out loud.

Another way to stop fighting about money? Make more of it.

I’m not talking about being reckless. I’m not talking about fraud. I’m not talking about marrying a gold digger and pretending that’s love (although my wife could’ve done that and not have to deal with me). I’m talking about capacity.

If every argument revolves around whether you can afford something, that’s not always a communication problem. Sometimes it’s a production problem.

And before someone jumps in with “Well some guys are working their asses off already,” yes. That’s true. There are seasons where you’re grinding and still in a tight spot.

But if we’re being honest? There are also a lot of dudes who have more gas in the tank than they’re using.
More hours. More skill to develop. More risks to take. More effort to pour in. More discipline available.

Instead of asking your spouse to shrink her tastes, maybe expand your output.

Instead of arguing about the cost, increase the earning power.

Scarcity makes everything emotional. Abundance makes things simpler.

You don’t fight about the price of eggs when the bank account is strong.

This isn’t about ego. It’s not about control. It’s not about flexing.

It’s about responsibility.

If money is the constant source of tension in your house, one solution is to stop debating over the size of the pie and start baking a bigger one.

Work harder. Get sharper. Increase your value.

And if you do that intelligently and don’t spend like an idiot?

A lot of those money fights disappear.

Not because you “talked them to death.”

Because you removed the pressure.

Sometimes the fix isn’t another conversation.

Sometimes the fix is performance.
